Youths for New Nigeria and Ijebu Ijesa National Students' Union campaign against Drug buse


In the current wave to combat the evil menace of drug abuse leading to increased cases of mental illness and the negative effects to lives and properties, it was a remarkable moment and an uncommon event in the area as the IJEBU-JESA NATIONAL STUDENTS' UNION under the leadership of Hon. Comrd. OGUNDIPE SAMUEL O. in partnership with the YOUTHS FOR NEW NIGERIA (YNN) stood against the misuse of drugs and addiction in the
The fight against drug abuse and addiction was inspired by the awareness of the damages caused by the misuse of drugs and other substances to the human body.
The convener said this was necessary so to educate the general public, youths in particular on the essence to stay clear of the abuse of illicit substances as drugs has to be prescribed by medical practitioners before its intake.
Comrade Sunday Obanubi, the National Coordinator of YNN, added that the group has been embarking on various awareness campaigns across the country to educate all stakeholders on the need to act now and prevent irreparable damages illicit drug and substance abuse can cause to a nation and her people. With the current influx of harmful drugs into the country and those cultivated here including tramadol, cocaine, Indian helm and other intake of fluid to get high is totally unnecessary. YNN has been carrying the campaign across various states and regions of the country.
Comrade Ojo Oluwole, the coordinator of YNN in Oriade Local Government showed his happiness at the success of the rally as it would further help in uplifting the lives and fortune of the youths in the area.
Everyone should join hands to echo the message against drug abuse as this is fast eroding the good and prosperous potentials of our dear nation.
